REDEVELOPMENT OF THE FLORIDA EVERGLADES & EVERGLADES RESEARCHERS & ADVENTURERS.
FCE research has shown that the Everglades operates differently from other coastal ecosystems in that its estuaries that are “upside-down,” with seawater supplying limiting nutrients landward, rather than the other way around. Collaborative research with Caribbean scientists, particularly those associated with Mexican LTER programs(MexLTER), has shown similar upside-down features in similar tropical low nutrient wetlands of the Yucatan peninsula and northern Belize. Because this finding has ramifications for coastal restoration and conservation, FCE scientists are continuing collaborations with Mexican colleagues to establish coordinated science and education programs to improve adaptive decision-making in coastal ecosystems of south Florida, the Yucatan, and throughout the Caribbean.(READ MORE HERE)

I want to take another trip .it was awesome . The staff were very knowledgeable and even got to see gators in their natural habitat albeit the guide fed the gators so they associated people with food . Evergladeswere amazing I would have liked to stay longer .
I need to explain 3 stars; only because of if screwy the reservation, parking at the gas station and then following the rude representative back to where the boats are. Once past that, the guide , Willy, was awesome and sooo nice. Great experience once onboard!!!!
Awesome experience with Stanley who is a local that knows the wildlife and helped to make the experience excellent and very personal. I would highly recommend these guys! We loved it!
There is only one Everglades in the entire whole wide world. We will love it for as long as we can.
The term conservation refers to any activity that helps protect wildlife and natural resources, such as water and soil. Conservation includes what people can do every day, such as walking instead of driving, or turning down the thermostat. It also includes large projects conducted by experts, such as reintroducing a species of animal to a particular habitat. In “Everglades Forever,” the author goes along on a fi eld trip in southern Florida to learn about conserving the Everglades. By sharing the students’ discoveries, the author also shows readers how they can help and why their efforts are necessary.
A cool place to visit to get an idea of how special the Everglades are is at
In late 2016, visitors to Zoo Miami had the opportunity to explore the newest exhibit, Florida: Mission Everglades. This exciting and unique exhibit is a feature state-of-the-art interaction and informative displays about the significant animals found in South Florida. Florida: Mission Everglades takes children and adults alike into the different habitats found in the heart of Florida. Come face-to-face with a ferocious bear as you explore hammocks and pinelands, and slide through the water where river otters play. Experience alligators and crocodiles in a new way as you wander over a rickety bridge and an acrylic underwater tube. These exhibits come together to help visitors understand Zoo Miami’s collective mission of trying to save the Florida Everglades. This one-of-a-kinds exhibit is rivaled only by an actual trip to the Everglades. The fascinating displays and exciting up-close encounters encourage visitors to head for the Everglades, and perhaps even commit to keeping it safe. If you would like to purchase a commemorative brick is the walkway to Mission Everglades,
Absolutely! The Florida Everglades is a unique and unparalleled ecosystem, recognized as a World Heritage site, an International Biosphere Reserve, and a Wetland of International Importance. It’s the largest tropical wilderness of any kind in the U.S., encompassing a vast and diverse landscape from freshwater sloughs to coastal mangrove islands.
The Everglades is home to a myriad of species, many of which are rare and endangered, such as the manatee, American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. Its wetlands serve as a critical habitat for countless birds, especially during the migratory season.
But beyond its ecological importance, the Everglades holds significant cultural and historical value. It has been the home and sustenance provider for indigenous peoples for thousands of years and remains a symbol of nature’s beauty, resilience, and complexity.
Protecting and preserving the Everglades is a testament to our commitment to safeguarding the planet’s natural wonders for future generations. Every effort made to conserve this unique environment ensures that its beauty, biodiversity, and significance remain intact for as long as possible.
In the words of Marjory Stoneman Douglas, the renowned author and conservationist who was pivotal in efforts to protect the Everglades: “There are no other Everglades in the world. They are, they have always been, one of the unique regions of the earth; remote, never wholly known.” Her call to action remains as relevant today: “Be a nuisance where it counts. Do your part to inform and stimulate the public to join your action… Be depressed, discouraged, and disappointed at failure and the disheartening effects of ignorance, greed, corruption, and bad politics—but never give up.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐What an adventure! I highly recommend the one hour tour, it’s definitely worth the money. I was fortunate enough to see numerous alligators and other wildlife in the beautiful Everglades. Captain Mo was courteous and knowledgeable. The gators even love him! Great experience from beginning to end! Thank you Lee and Captain Mo!

Michelle,
Thank you so much for this review we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the world. We do our best to provide the best airboat tour experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Came in December. We had the greatest time! Fun & laughter the whole hour. We went on a private 1 hour airboat ride. We rode on “The Black Pearl!” With Captain Pete. We called to reserve and we’re told the address to meet them was inside a Shell station. Captain Pete met us there and told us we could bring drinks and snacks of our choice to take on the ride but he had a cooler full of ice cold water. We followed him a mile down the road to the boat ramp and boarded there. It was fun from that minute on. A very smooth ride! We stopped at gators nest and saw some baby gators and the mama! Then ‘Big Al’ a 10 foot gator stopped to say hello. Captain Pete was very informative of the history and nature of the everglades and he made it a wonderful experience. We drove 1 hour down from Ft. Lauderdale just to ride with this crew and it was absolutely worth it! When we come back, I will be taking the 2 hour ride for sure! Amazing! 5 stars!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ IT WAS AWESOME !!!!!!! At first I was scared of the meeting place not knowing wich person is from the airboat ( shell station is very crwoded place) but we asked around and followed the van to the launching place. I’m so sorry for not remembering my captain’s name but it was simply amazing :p We saw dozen of alligators laying on the grass, the captain took time to explain about the everglades and the wild life around. If I ever come back to miami, I will definitely do it again and with this company. Thanks for a great day!!!

Awesome
Called in the morning and we were able to get a tour the same day in the afternoon.
Booked a semi-private but since nobody joined it was just the two of us!
Maurice was a fun guy with entertaining stories about life in and on the Glades. Got to see gators very up close!
Awesome way to spend an hour!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have to say a big thank you to all the team. I walk in to the business as I didn’t have a booking made and they managed to find me a space in the next boat the same day. As I didn’t have a car they drove me from the meeting point (Shell gas station) to the pontoon where the tours starts. The boat driver, Mike seemed to have a lot of experience, he literally called the alligators and they just came to him! (Don’t know if bc he feeded them before??) anyway a total of 4 showed up. We had a cold night and that’s maybe why alligators were also more keen on showing to get a bit of sunlight to get warm. Mike also explained about the ecosystem of the Everglades and more interesting facts. When the tour ended they drove me back to the petrol station. 100% recommended.
