Reports of a fish kill (Sarasota County) and slight respiratory irritation (Sarasota, Pinellas, and Lee counties) were received over the past week. Forecasts for Southwest Florida by the USF-FWC Collaboration for Prediction of Red Tides predict northern, alongshore transport of surface waters, and minimal net transport of subsurface waters from Pinellas to Lee counties over the next three days – Find out more here.
The FWC, and Commissioner Bergeron in particular, has been working very closely with federal and state partners to address the high-water situation in the Everglades. Because of the great coordination between the agencies, on average, more water is moving out of the system than in. An Emergency Deviation is in effect until water levels return to the regulation schedule. Unfortunately, these actions and recent rains have put more water in the area of the Everglades. Wildlife scatters to higher ground in order to survive drowning. We respect nature and the beautiful animals all guests see through out the adventure and have sense moved operations further west but are not offering the same tours until the water level drops.
We appreciate your understanding and hope that you know that our primary goal is the protection of Everglades wildlife and habitats they depend on for their well-being and for the enjoyment of the people of world to see.

EVERGLADES NEWS
The Everglades, a vast and unique wetland ecosystem in Florida, is often in the news for a variety of reasons, including conservation efforts, wildlife encounters, environmental changes, and more. Here’s a general overview of some topics that might have made headlines in recent years up to 2022:
Restoration Efforts: The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) is the largest hydrologic restoration project ever in the U.S. Updates on the progress of various projects under CERP, funding, and their impacts might be regularly reported.
Wildlife: Sightings of rare or endangered species, such as the Florida panther or the American crocodile, can make news. Moreover, issues related to invasive species, such as the Burmese python, have been frequently discussed.
Water Quality: Concerns about water pollution, algal blooms, and their impact on the Everglades ecosystem are often in the spotlight.
Climate Change: The Everglades is vulnerable to rising sea levels, changing rainfall patterns, and increased temperatures. Reports on how climate change is affecting the region and its biodiversity might be prevalent.
Cultural and Historical Aspects: The indigenous tribes of the Everglades, particularly the Miccosukee and Seminole tribes, have lived in harmony with this environment for centuries. News might feature their cultural festivals, perspectives on conservation, and more.
Recreational Activities: Tourism is a significant industry in Florida. Any changes or updates related to activities like airboat tours, fishing, or bird watching in the Everglades could be newsworthy.
Environmental Advocacy: Activists and organizations working to preserve the Everglades might hold events, campaigns, or initiatives that capture media attention.
Land Development: Any developments related to urban expansion, agriculture, or infrastructure projects near or within the Everglades can be a point of news, especially if they pose environmental concerns.
Natural Disasters: Hurricanes, fires, or other natural events impacting the Everglades could be covered in the news, highlighting the resilience of this ecosystem and the challenges it faces.
Educational Initiatives: Programs or initiatives designed to educate the public about the importance of the Everglades and its preservation might be featured.

Harald Myhre, Hi. We are looking to get my dad a trip of the Everglades for his 70th birthday. He and wife are visiting Florida late Feb so wonder what would be a recommended trip? Was considering 1.5 hr trip. What could they expect this time of year? Can we reserve a slot and let them reschedule to suit their itinerary? And if we book a certain time, how long in advance should they be at your office?
Thank you
Harald, Thank you for inquiring about our airboat adventures. We would love for you to join us during your visit. My personal recommendation would be the 1.5 hour private airboat adventure, because it is a great medium to being too short or too long for first timers. I also recommend the early am instead of the pm because it is cooler and there is dew all over the vegetation. We don’t have any animals in cages or fish tanks, & the most common animals seen on any adventure are alligators virds and turtles. We are located at 17696 SW 8 Street, Miami, FL 33194. Our captains have up to 48 years of experience in the everglades. The airboats you will ride in are all high end and luxurious. All tours have an ice filled cooler on board and we provide bottled water. You can bring whatever food and beverage you wish. Our tours are a real safari experience.

Our first SunsetAirboat photo tour in theEvergladeswas nothing but a fantastic experience!
On our private Airboat tour, our guide took us to hidden places where we had many opportunities to shoot birds, alligators and baby gators.
Being there late in the afternoon offered us a amazing golden light embellishing the landscape.
After 2 hours and almost 1000 images each it was time to leave our guide and took advantage of the location to set up our tripods and shoot the sunset.
While we were shooting it, we enjoyed the sound of the Everglades: insects, birds and alligators singing in the distance.
We hope you can join theMiami Photo Centernext adventure in the Everglades, you will be stunned!
We ended our trip with a delicious BBQ and enjoyed our meals while the full moon was pointing out.
Hmmmm you’ve read this much, read more and book with us.
