Wow!

I can’t find the right words to describe a trip on an airboat but it combines the thrill of speed with a nature encounter worthy of National Geographic. I was a bit concerned about the meeting spot being at a local gas station (seemed a bit shady), but in retrospect, it made complete sense. Upon arrival at the dock, 7 of us boarded our own airboat and we were quickly off to the races. Those boats are FAST…and loud (I would bring ear protection for small kids)…and hot (do NOT forget sunscreen). Within minutes we were all alone in the splendor of the Everglades. Very cool. We saw tons of alligators of all sizes, all up close. A truly unique experience!
